"Believe in yourself and push yourself to make your dreams come true. You can achieve more than you think!"

International Women’s Day  (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, and cultural achievements of women.

Throughout March, Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia (BMSA) proudly spotlights four impressive women who embody the spirit of the 2024 global theme: ‘Invest in women: Accelerate progress’. Each share their unique journey, insights, and wisdom through a special Q&A series.

Watch this space for powerful narratives, smiles, and a celebration of diversity and achievement!

Can you tell us a bit about your role at BMSA and what you find most fulfilling about it?

I started with Bridgestone 3 years ago joining the company as Administrator. After 8 months, I stepped into the Account Manager role. Two years later, I joined the Engineering Team - Technical Product Support. My 3 years in different roles with Bridgestone have been exciting and fulfilling.

I have worked with some of the best within Bridgestone - the knowledge and skills is amazing within this company.

Bridgestone has made me feel and see a long-life career with the hunger to keep growing within the business. I’m always eager to take on new challenges head on and I love that Bridgestone encourages and supports growth with their employees.

As I like to say “I LOVE having a B on my bonnet”.  I’m excited for challenges and growth in the years to come!

What challenges have you overcome in your career, and what advice would you give to other women facing similar obstacles?

Being a mum of 4 beautiful children, I had time doing the most important job of all - a MUM. I initially struggled entering back into the work force as technology is always advancing and relearning those people skills again.

My advice to others would be, "Believe in yourself and push yourself to make your dreams come true. You can achieve more than you think! Always set the benchmark high and run for it and never doubt yourself."

Outside of work, what passions or hobbies fuel your creativity and energy?

My Family.

My children are my life and soul. We love spending time together as a family whether its sightseeing around the countryside or having our own little parties at home. We never do anything without each other as we are a very tight family.

We’d love to bring a smile to our audience’s faces.  Can you share a fun or quirky fact about yourself that they might not now?

I was born in the UK and the first town we lived in when we moved to Australia at the age of 4 was Marvel loch WA. We then moved and lived in the Pilbara for most of my life and have now lived in NSW now for 8 years.
