Technical Studies
Mine site technical visits are conducted to gather and analyse data ensuring the tyres are suitable for the intended purpose. The studies are aimed at maximising tyre performance. Please see below:
TKPH Study
This study determines the amount of work done by the tyres are within a safe range and under prevailing site conditions.
Heat Study
Temperature probes are used to measure the heat generated by tyres at the belts as part of new product evaluation. These recorded temperatures are correlated to chamber temperature and aids in making informed decisions in tyre temperature alert levels.
Weight Study
The weight study is used to validate the weight distribution of machines relative to the volume and position of the load. The data is compared to the load carrying capacity of the tyre.
GPS Study
A global positioning device is mounted on designated trucks to aid in assessing the severity of a mine operation. The operational activities of machines such as cycle speeds, lateral and vertical acceleration are recorded and assessed.
Scrap Tyre Inspection
Scrapped tyres are inspected and assessed for the nature of damage and suitability for repairs.
Site Condition Assessment
This study focuses on mine roads. This highlights the road conditions that pose risk to tyre life and performance.
