Tyre Repair
Since 1999, Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia (BMSA) has provided OTR tyre repairs to customers across Australia. The Bridgestone Repair System delivers the highest level of safety, quality, durability and viability in every repair. This outcome is achieved through defined processes and management systems, which ensure traceability, continuous improvement and risk mitigation for our staff and customers.
BMSA operates six repair facilities nationally.
Mt Isa, Queensland
Mackay, Queensland
Hunter Valley, New South Wales
Melbourne, Victoria
Perth, Western Australia
Port Hedland, Western Australia
These facilities have a combined annual capacity to produce approximately 5000 repairs per year. In addition, BMSA branches have the capability to arrange tyre repairs for customers who are located in remote areas by providing onsite inspection, quoting and assistance with logistics services.
Repair Methodology
BMSA’s repair methodology is unique within the repair industry. The methodology is driven by the ethos and capability of understanding the various tyre constructions and retaining the maximum amount of the tyres’ undamaged structure and to manufacture reinforcement to suit the specific damage. BMSA has the ability to manufacture the required reinforcement, rather than removing structure to suit a purchased repair patch or material.
Materials
BMSA understand the necessity of risk mitigation, high quality materials and workmanship with in the process. This includes the key points of utilising materials, which provide the characteristics required by the specific tyre and achieving the optimal vulcanisation conditions. This approach ensures the customer receives a safe, durable and cost effective repair, regardless of the repair class or location of damage.
Quality Control
Process quality control incorporates both proprietary and internationally recognised standards of workmanship as well as testing, material traceability and inspection procedures. The system ensures each stage of the repair process, in every repair meet or exceed the specific requirements, which are designed to eliminate any errors, which may be encountered. The outcomes of this system consistently guaranties tyre repairs that are safe, durable and of the highest quality.
Research & Development
BMSA continues to refine and innovate with the assistance of Bridgestone Global Technical business units and group companies, which is an unmatched resource within the tyre repair industry. To facilitate field trials, BMSA appreciates the assistance of customers that can provide the conditions and tracking necessary to validate improvements in both safety and performance of tyre repairs.
Training
In 2007, BMSA created Australia’s first and only nationally accredited training qualification for OTR tyre repair, with the intention of providing tyre repairers with the skills and knowledge to safely and competently complete tyre repairs. All BMSA repairers participate in the Certificate II in OTR tyre repair, currently accredited by the Australia Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as 10451Nat.
